on hiatus until April 9th - 2009

Hello All!

We are taking a break until next riding season.

Also, our rides will be changing from Tuesday nights to Thursday nights. (I guess this blog name won't be suitable anymore).

We will be posting our ride information on the BMA website and link to that from here.

we were hoping to start in March - but the start date has been delayed to April 9th. I apologize for the delay - but we'll still have 5(!) months of girls rides.

Hope everyone has a great off-season!

cheers -
the tuesday/thursday ride girls!

Welcome to Tuesday night Girls rides for 2008

Tuesday night rides is teaming up with BMA! The rides are free and open to everyone - you do not have to be a BMA member to participate in our rides.

I will be coordinating the Tuesday night rides for the season - March thru August(inclusive) and look forward to continuing our "Tuesday Night Girls ride" tradition.

We will start after daylight savings time kicks in for 2008 until end of August 2008.

Every month there will be a different ride coordinator. If you'd like to help with the rides as a sweeper or leader - you will have the opportunity to check with the ride coordinator to help.

Our rides are "girls only - no drop" rides. All levels are welcome. There is no pressure to ride above your ability. We are striving to build a community of women that love mtn biking and who want to support and encourage each other.

In attendance we have everyone from beginners all the way through retired Pro riders. The rides are very social and gives girls a chance to meet other women who mountain bike in a nurturing and supportive environment.

All riders MUST wear a helmet, bring water, and have a trail-ready bike. Riders should also carry the usual basics: spare tube(s), a pump, tire levers, a chain tool, and basic allen wrenches.
All riders ride at their own risk, group leaders take no responsibility for rider safety/injury.

Rides start @ 6pm and will go for approximate 1 - 1.5 hours. Depending on who shows up the we can break up into groups based on ability. Generally a usually a group will head out for dinner and drinks after the ride.

Rides may be canceled if the trails are too wet (we do not want to damage our trails) or the weather prohibits us from riding. The blog will be updated by 3pm on Tuesday if it is going to be canceled.

Please don't be shy about coming out - all of us love biking and would like to hang out with girls that are interested in biking.

If questions - email me @ cfcue {at} yahoo {d o t}com.

Solicitation Policy:

The focus of this group is to build a community of women who encourage and support each other in the wonderful sport of mountain biking.

We understand that some of our riders are in businesses that may benefit other riders (health food/body work/coaching/fitness training/etc.), however, we ask that you do not directly utilize these rides as an opportunity to develop business for yourself or your company. With that said, if your participation in the rides evolves via the natural progression of attending rides and making friends and the subject of your services come up, then that's totally cool .

For most of us, mountain biking is way to ride with like minded individuals and as stress relief. Let's keep it that way so our riders don't have to worry about solicitations. So to that end - if you are coming to these rides for the sole purpose of marketing yourself - please stay home.

Happy Trails!
